Something I’m Reading
I just started reading “The Way of Kings” by Brandon Sanderson. It’s a popular fantasy novel and has been recommended to me multiple times.
Something I Photographed
Hiking with Heather and friends!
P.S. Heather and I are hosting a marriage retreat in San Diego on July 31-August 1 for 75 couples. It’ll be 2 days dedicated to realigning with your spouse and rekindle your romance with workshops and killer guest speakers. This event is exclusively for BetterLife Tribe members so if you’re a Tribe member, learn more and register here. If you aren’t in the Tribe, you’re missing out.
Something I’m Excited About
The Texas 3-Pack is over 90% subscribed! If you’ve been mulling this one over and want to see if it’s a good fit for you, shoot my investor relations team a text now at 678-585-2719.
I’m so proud of my team who’ve worked tirelessly on the acquisitions and capital raising side to bring our biggest deal ever this close to the closing table! Since the outset of Open Door Capital, we’ve hired people who align with our values and culture, who are the best of the best in their specific roles. In your business, look for ways to put the right people in the right seats and don’t be afraid to hire people better and smarter than you.
Hundreds of investors have already explored and opted into this opportunity after seeing how the low basis, the 3.8% fixed rate interest-only loan for 7 years, and strong submarkets position them for lower risk growth.
Something I Can Answer
I’ll be answering two questions asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!
Question: “What advice would you give the ‘5-year-old you’ ?”
I'll say this, and it sounds cheesy. But I wish I would have actually believed my mom when she said, “You can do anything you want, if you put your mind to it”. It's such a simple phrase, such a simple sentence, that we kind of pass it off. But the truth is, you really can do anything you want if you put your mind to it. I wish I would have believed that. So if I could go back and tell myself something, it would that and dream bigger and set your mind to it.
Question: "What do you think are the most important ethical considerations for a real estate professional?”
I’ll share two.
Is the thing you’re doing (ex: being a real estate investor) creating win win situations? That doesn't mean that you're giving free rent and it doesn't mean that you're paying top dollar for houses. That's not what that means. But how can you create win wins? How can you solve problems in a way that everybody involved doesn't have to lose. That's probably the most important ethical consideration.
Conduct- How am I behaving in the transaction and every level of real estate? Is it something that I can look back on and be proud of in the future? Is it something that God can look at and be proud of in the moment?
