Something I’m Reading
I’m reading The Tiger by John Vaillant. It was recommended to Joe Rogan by Ryan Holiday when he was a guest on Joe’s podcast. Ryan is an author and highly recommended the book. It is great so far!
Something I Teach
See the “Something I Can Answer” section below. I will answer that two-fold ;)
Something I Photographed
Not really a photo, but a screenshot of an Instagram message I received :)
Something I’m Excited About
I’m hosting a free webinar today on all things taxes, inflation, and real estate! My friend and CPA, Amanda Han, will be hosting it with me so consider this a free hour and a half with a professional CPA 😉 It starts today (Wednesday, July 27th) at 5:30pm ET. Register by clicking the button below.
P.S. Even if you can’t make it, register anyways! We will be sending the recording out afterwards
Something I Can Answer
Every week, I answer one question asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!
Question: “What is the best piece of advice that you have received recently?”
I was meeting with a buddy who’s a real estate investor and telling him how much harder it has been to raise capital the last month due to the economy. He asked me if I had talked to anybody who has raised capital for decades and seen multiple market cycles and if I have asked their opinion on this. I said I hadn’t and he asked why not?
I thought about it and realized it really came down to my ego. So I took Ken McElroy (who wrote The ABCs of Real Estate Investing) out to lunch and that 2-hour conversation changed my life and he helped me in a lot of ways.
So something I can teach? My advice to you is if you are ever stuck, having a hard time, or are just about to embark on something you haven’t done before, seek the advice of people that have been there and don’t let your ego stop you from asking for help.
Your Friend,
P.S. Comment below and let me know your thoughts on this week’s BTB! Please be friendly :)
