Something I’m Reading
I’m reading "The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor, which is super good.
Something I Photographed
Wilder on our morning adventure.
Something I’m Excited About
I’m back in Idaho for a week hanging with some friends (the end of our six month “fitness challenge”). Good times.
Some Thoughts to (Hopefully) Make Your Life Better
I’m on a little vacation to our property in Idaho right now.
My son was having some behavior issues all morning, whining and some hitting and easily angered. Normal stuff for a four-year old boy.
So I picked him up and said, “hey, let’s go to the woods.”
We walked a few feet into the woods and EVERYTHING changed.
Anxiety was gone.
Joy was back.
Time disappeared.
And I’m not talking about just for my kid… I’m talking about for myself.
No screens, no distractions, just … woods. Dirt, trees, sticks, mud, bugs, and other little miracles. We built a target to shoot arrows into. We build a couch and mailbox out of grass and dead trees. We climbed a “mountain” (a steep hill that was about 100 feet high.).
It was pure joy, bonding, and memories.
So, this is just a reminder: take your kids to the woods.
And… if you don’t have kids… take yourself to the woods.
To your better life,
