Something I’m Reading

Re-reading Alex Hormozi’s “$100M Offers”- which is phenomenal for internet business owners.

Something I Photographed

One of my favorite parenting hacks: When your kid is begging for some kind of toy or treat or something - offer instead to “Put it on their list.”  I just take a picture, put it in my Evernote under “Wilder’s List” and 99% of the time, this satisfies their need to buy the item. And it helps me know what to actually get them when their birthday or Christmas rolls around.

(And don’t we do the same thing with our Amazon Wish Lists!? Hah!)

Something I’m Excited About

I’m excited about Fund 9 being almost full. This is one of my favorite real estate funds I’ve ever done - because it includes two of my favorite asset classes: Mobile Home Parks AND Self Storage. Big thanks to everyone who’s jumping into this deal with me (yes, I am investing as well. I wouldn’t ask investors to put their money into anything I’m not willing to put my money into!) Something I Can Answer
I’ll be answering two questions asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!

Question: "What strategies do you use to avoid burnout?”

The fact is, I never get burnout doing the things I love. It's when I start doing things that I should not be doing, that I get burnt out. Why? Because my expectations don't line up with my reality. So if I start feeling burnt out, that's usually an internal indication that I should not be doing that task, I need to bring in help, or I need to outsource that task entirely. Also, sometimes people just need margin in their day. What I mean by margin in your day is like how a piece of paper has margins on the left, right, top and bottom. You need space around your day. So in the morning, the evening, and even space throughout the day. You can even margin your hours. Margin your hours, margin your days and margin your weeks. I make sure I take my Sabbath on Saturday’s, every Saturday. When I need margin in my month, I usually take off at least a couple days, like you know, three or four day weekends at least once in a month. And when I need margin in the year, I make sure I take at least a vacation or two every year.

Question: "How do you stay up-to-date with changes and trends in the real estate market?

Real Estate masterminds are a big piece of it. Talking with other real estate investors, being part of the better life tribe, etc. You know, the Tribe has a real estate class every single week, on Wednesday’s, and the current class is being led by Travis Hansen. Listening to people like Travis teach about what's going on the market, attending real estate conferences, it’s all very helpful. I follow Dave Meyer on Instagram (@thedatadeli) and he constantly shares really good info on the market. The On The Market podcast from Bigger Pockets that Dave hosts is also an excellent option when it comes to market discussion.
