Something I’m Reading
I’m currently reading “No More Mr. Nice Guy” by Robert A. Glover. The book is about what Robert calls “Nice Guy Syndrome” which are people who are afraid of confrontation and tend to be people pleasers and how to overcome that. I really like the book quite a bit because I probably fit into that category more than I want to.

I learned the hard way that managing tenants can be a nightmare without the right tools. That’s why I now use TurboTenant. One of the most powerful tools in real estate is something surprisingly simple: a handwritten note. In a world full of emails and text messages, a personal touch stands out and gets results. Some Thoughts to (Hopefully) Make Your Life Better
Weekly Battle Planning: How 30 Minutes Can Transform Your Week
In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind, constantly reacting to what life throws at you. But what if I told you that spending just 30 minutes every week could dramatically improve your focus, consistency, and overall success? I call this practice “Weekly Battle Planning,” and it’s one of the most powerful habits I’ve ever developed.
The idea is simple: Take time on Sunday night, Sunday morning, or Monday morning—whenever works best for you—to work *on* your life, not just live in it. Here’s how I approach my Weekly Battle Planning, and why I believe it can help you achieve your goals more effectively.
1. Revisit Your Goals
Every week, I start by writing down my three main goals for the quarter. I also take a moment to review my annual goals. This keeps my long-term vision at the forefront of my mind and ensures that everything I do during the week aligns with where I want to go.
2. Review and Gamify Last Week’s Habits
One of the most crucial parts of my Weekly Battle Planning is reviewing how I performed on my habits last week. In The BetterLife Tribe, we gamify our habits, giving them a score. I check this score to see if I’m improving. Gamifying my habits has been one of the most impactful changes I’ve ever made—it turns daily actions into a game, making them more engaging and fun.
3. Track Your Habits
Next, I write down the 12 habits I’m tracking in my BetterLife Book—the habit tracker you receive when you join The BetterLife Tribe or First Deal. These habits are the daily actions that, when done consistently, move me closer to my goals. By writing them down, I reinforce their importance and commit to staying on track.
4. Identify Your WeeklyOne
Another key part of my Weekly Battle Planning is identifying my “WeeklyOne”—the ONE major action I need to take in the coming week to call it a “win.” I have one WeeklyOne for each of my three quarterly goals. This focus on one key action helps me prioritize and ensures that I’m making meaningful progress every week.
5. Reflect on Wins
I ask myself, “What worked well last week? Where did I win?” I journal on this for a few moments. It’s easy to focus on what didn’t go right, but taking time to acknowledge your wins builds momentum and confidence.
6. Learn from the Past
Next, I ask, “What went wrong? What lessons can I learn? What insights from the last week?” This reflection helps me identify areas for improvement and ensures I’m constantly learning and growing.
7. Optimize Your Calendar
Finally, I review my calendar for the upcoming week. I look for any “Dead Space” between meetings that I can eliminate, and I even try to kill off as many meetings as possible by turning them into emails or quick calls. This gives me more focused time to work on my goals and less time spent in unproductive activities.
This entire process takes no more than 30 minutes, but the payoff is huge. It gives me clarity, focus, and a sense of control over my week. I’m not just reacting to life—I’m planning and executing a strategy that moves me closer to my goals, one week at a time.
If you’re looking for a way to bring more focus and consistency into your life, I highly recommend giving Weekly Battle Planning a try. It’s a small investment of time that can lead to massive returns in your productivity and success. And if you’re interested in diving deeper into these principles, check out The BetterLife Tribe. We’re all about helping you set goals, build habits, and hold yourself accountable to achieve the life you want.
Here’s to winning the week ahead!
Love you!
