Something I’m Reading

Just started this book recently released by my friend, Geoff.

I’m also working through the sequel to Hyperion, called "The Fall of Hyperion”.

Something I Photographed

Last night I went to a Chinese restaurant with Heather, and after the meal I tell her, “let’s play the ‘in bed’ game” with the fortune  cookie.  (For those unaware… you add the words “in bed” to the fortune to discover your romantic future.)

I opened the cookie and… it was empty. 100% empty. No fortune.

I don’t like this game anymore. 😂

Something I’m Excited About

I got to see a 3D Sonogram of my baby’s face yesterday during Heather’s appointment. That was super cool and makes it feel a little more real. He’ll be here before we know it!

Something I Recommend

I learned the hard way that managing tenants can be a nightmare without the right tools. That’s why I now use TurboTenant. It simplifies everything from background checks to credit reports, so I can avoid problem tenants from the start. Plus, it helps with marketing, custom leases, and automatic rent payments, making my life as a landlord so much easier. Don’t make the same mistakes I did. Use code Brandon10 for 10% off at TurboTenant.com/betterlife."

One of the most powerful tools in real estate is something surprisingly simple: a handwritten note. In a world full of emails and text messages, a personal touch stands out and gets results. Whether you're looking to buy your next investment property or reach more potential sellers, Ballpoint Marketing handles it all—from building targeted lists to crafting and sending personalized notes. Their 'done for you' service has been a game-changer for my business. For up to 15% off, visit BallpointMarketing.com/BetterLife. I don’t earn anything if you buy—I just believe in the power of their work.

Some Thoughts to (Hopefully) Make Your Life Better

THIS is Better Than Intensity Every Time: The Secret to Achieving Your Goals

“Consistency beats intensity every time.”

When my friend Cam Cathcart said this to me the other day, it struck me as one of those simple yet profound truths that can change the way you approach just about anything in life. Whether it’s building a real estate portfolio, getting in shape, or growing a business, consistency—not intensity—is what will get you across the finish line.

Think about it: How often have you set a big goal and then gone all-in for a week or two, only to burn out and abandon it altogether? Maybe you committed to cold-calling 100 leads a day, or maybe you planned to work out every single morning at 5 AM. But after a short burst of energy, life got in the way, and the goal faded into the background.

Now, imagine if instead of focusing on intensity, you focused on consistency. Maybe you commit to making just 10 calls a day or working out three times a week. It doesn’t sound as impressive, but here’s the kicker: You can keep it up. And over time, those small, consistent actions will add up to big results.

This is exactly what we promote at The BetterLife Tribe. At BetterLife, we believe in setting big, audacious goals—but then we work backwards to identify the daily habits and actions that will actually get you there. Because the truth is, it’s not the flashy, intense efforts that make the difference. It’s the daily grind, the small, consistent actions that, over time, lead to massive success.

Let’s take real estate investing as an example. You might dream of owning 50 rental properties, but that’s not going to happen overnight. Instead of focusing on the big number, break it down. What can you do today, this week, and this month to move closer to that goal? Maybe it’s analyzing one deal a day or attending a networking event every month. These small actions, done consistently, will eventually lead you to that big goal.

And here’s where Radical Accountability comes in—another core principle of The BetterLife Tribe. It’s one thing to set goals and define the actions that will get you there, but it’s another thing entirely to actually do those actions consistently. That’s where accountability comes into play. Whether it’s a coach, a community, or a friend who keeps you on track, having someone to hold you accountable is key to staying consistent over the long haul.

So next time you’re setting a goal, remember: Consistency beats intensity every time. Focus on the small, daily actions that will move you forward, and apply Radical Accountability to ensure you stay the course. Because when you look back a year from now, you’ll see that those small, consistent steps were the ones that made all the difference.
