Something I’m Reading

I’m still working through “Fairy Tale” from Stephen King which is awesome but long! Its a good fiction read if you’re looking to switch it up.

Something I Teach

10 Things I Learned About Building a Real Estate Business.

  1. Daily Consistent Action Lead to Big Moments

  2. In the beginning, any deal is better than no deal. Once you have momentum, a good deal is better than “just any deal.”

  3. Results are just the result of an executed process.

  4. Build a machine and get the deals flowing consistently.

  5. Money is really helpful to have - but get it in a way that fires you up.

  6. The bigger the rehab, the bigger the risk

  7. For me, marketing for deals is a far more valuable skill than doing my own labor

  8. Leading and empowering others is a more valuable skill than marketing

  9. Business cards matter less than you think

  10. Leading a local networking group would have helped me build better local connections, source deals, and made me a better leader

Something I Photographed

Garden is coming in nicely! Took a year to recover from the flood!

Something I’m Excited About

Last week we launched our 7th mobile home park fund and the deal raised $30M in just 30 hours. CRAZY. I guess people are still interest in real estate and cash flow!

Something I Can Answer
Every week, I answer one question asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!

Question: “How do you approach investors and show them you mean business when you're starting out?”

Great question. Three things:

Humility: Don’t act like you know stuff, cause you don’t, and any experienced investor will see right through you. Be humble and ask questions and take notes.

Knowledge: Start reading, now, and every day. Gain a ton of real estate knowledge so experienced investors can see you’re hungry and willing to invest time and money into your education.

Action: Ask for one small piece of actionable advice, and then go do it. Do it 110%. Then show them you took action, and ask for more. You’ll get it.

Your Friend,

P.S. Comment below and let me know your thoughts on this week’s BTB! Please be friendly :)
