Something I’m Reading
I’m currently reading "The Bullet Journal Method” by Ryder Carroll. It’s a way of really organizing your checklists for the day into a really interesting system thats a bit more complex that just a to-do list. I’m going to try it out for the next few months and I’ll let you all know what I think of it. I love that this book is more than just instruction but has some good philosophy and productivity conversations. I highly recommend it.
Something I Photographed
“What? You don’t have a giant swing in your living room?”
Something I’m Excited About
I’m excited to let you know about an amazing event called Lifestyle Investor Live happening this September 29th in Austin, Texas. My friend, Justin Donald, is hosting this private 1-day wealth-building workshop and as a friend and affiliate, I'm proud to be donating 100% of my commission to charity, to fight human trafficking. It's a cause both he and I have supported for years. In fact, 100% of his book profits go to fighting human trafficking. This isn’t your typical corporate event with keynotes and speakers, it's a small, interactive workshop where you’ll be learning directly from some of the most prominent industry experts. I’d be there myself if I didn’t have to record the podcast in Maui that day.
There will be an investment presentation, discussions and breakout sessions focused around personalized tax strategies, real estate opportunities and wealth building. They're limiting the number of seats to ensure all attendees get individual attention, so that you walk away with tools and strategies that you can apply immediately.
I only have a few tickets to give out, so if you’re interested in joining us, head over to lifestyleinvestor.com/live. If you sign up, be sure to put my name, "Brandon Turner" in the box that says "Did someone refer you to the event?" to make sure we get credit for your charitable contribution
Also, I’m super excited to announce that the BetterLife Tribe is open for enrollment! I love seeing Tribe members join and form habits to grow their business or personal life and network with other members. But what I love even more is donating 100% of profits to charity. Our team is also growing and we’re looking for a Member Success Manager. If you or anyone you know is in the market for a new role, check out the job posting here! The job posting closes on Friday so if you’re interested, be sure to submit your application soon.
Brandon’s Millionaire Tip
I like this idea of working on things that feel light. My performance coach, Jason Drees once asked me, how does that activity make you feel? Does that feel light or heavy? And I love running activities through that frame, or through that question. Is this heavy? Does this feel heavy or light? Not easy or hard. There are many things that are hard that feel light. Like analyzing a complex real estate deal feels light to me even though it's incredibly difficult. It uses a ton of mental power, brainpower, concentration, focus and time but it feels light to me. Now, unloading the dishwasher feels exceptionally heavy, not super easy. So pay attention to things and for the things that feel heavy, try to outsource them and do more of what makes you feel light because that’s one of the fastest ways to be happier and to grow your income. Because the things that feel light usually also make you money. Do more of that.
Something I Can Answer
I’ll be answering a question asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!
Question: "How are you investing to hedge against rising interest rates?”
I'm a big fan of the "stress test." I analyze my deals assuming slightly higher interest rates to see if they're still viable. This approach helps me avoid any nasty surprises down the road. It's like preparing for a marathon by running up a hill – when the actual race comes, you're more than ready.
Currently, I'm a fan of assuming deals with FIXED rate debt. It's all about locking in that sweet, steady interest rate that won't budge regardless of the market's mood swings. This gives me the peace of mind that even if rates start doing the cha-cha, my mortgage payment remains consistent. The Hill at Woodway is our latest investment opportunity with a fixed rate loan assumption. This is one of the hottest Markets (San Antonio) in the country, so if you want to partner with me and hundreds of other investors looking to build passive income, text my team today at 678-585-2719.
Something I Recommend
I was always envious of the people who are “ON” 100% of the time. The people who don’t deal with low motivation, doubt, fear of failure, or those endless days of thinking your whole entrepreneurial journey is about to blow up in your face. These people were running circles around me in business and real estate and when I finally figured out what they had that I didn’t – It all made sense.
These people were using a Mindset Coach to keep their eye on the prize and expose them to a higher level of thinking every single day. So when I went to find one of these coaches specifically for real estate investors, all roads lead to Jason Drees. Jason has been coaching me for nearly a decade at this point and has supported my growth from a small time investor to someone with nearly $1B worth of assets under management.
If you’re looking for an edge to accelerate your growth, talk to Jason. You can get a FREE coaching session through this link.
For my health-conscious friends (or those trying to be healthier), I’ve been using MyBodyTutor for years for accountability on my fitness and diet. These guys assign you a coach to hold you accountable, track your food, suggest exercises etc. You can check them out here.
