I’m reading The Last Arrow by Erwin McManus. It’s written by a Christian author/pastor and talks about living life to the fullest and how we will measure “success” at the end of our life when we look back. I highly encourage everyone to read this one.

Where are you purposefully failing?  

I was on a call the other day with a friend who mentioned that his kids are trying to learn piano. So the parent decided to also learn piano just so his kids could see how Dad learns and fails and improves. 

I thought that was such a great concept: this father was purposefully putting himself in a position he knew he would fail just so others could see and learn (and so he could continue working on his own “failure to success” skills)!

So my question for all of you:  where are you putting yourself out there in a way that you’ll likely fail?

Question: “What would you be doing as an investor to capitalize on the changing market right now?”

We have no idea what the future is going to be. However, we do have indicators and evidence of highly likely scenarios, including higher inflation which will lead to higher rents but also higher interest rates. So what would I recommend?

Increase your reserves. Double down on your network and skillset. Be even more conservative in your analyzing. Buy deals that cashflow.

Funny though. This is actually my exact advice I would give in a normal economy as well as a falling one and a rising one. The game doesn’t actually change.
