Something I’m Reading
I picked up a new fiction book, “The Name of the Wind” based on a recommendation from a good friend (Thanks Kasim!). It’s a bit like “Lord of the Rings”- but more readable. I’m loving it!
Something I Teach
I want to simply elaborate on one of my favorite quotes: “Don’t be jealous of the results you didn’t get by the work you didn’t do.”
It’s easy to look at someone who has a huge social media following, a large portfolio, a unique high-paying job, an awesome marriage, etc and feel jealous. Whenever I start feeling that way, I simply tell myself that quote, and it turns my envy to gratitude. They deserved success because they paid for it, worked for it, or somehow got themselves in line for the success.
And if they can get there, then I (and YOU) can get there too!
Something I Photographed
Our Halloween costumes. This nurse is way outta my league ;)
Something I’m Excited About
Just landed a few great mobile home parks as well as an apartment complex in Houston. Going to be raising money for the apartment and for Fund 7 in the coming weeks (and doing something super cool that we’ve never done before inside that fund!). Stay tuned!
Something I Can Answer
Every week, I answer one question asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!
Question: “Do you have any encouragement for someone not sure which direction to pursue in business and/or real estate?”
When you aren't sure what direction to take when pursuing real estate, remember this: it all works. Rentals. Flips. Wholesales. Commercial. NNN. Mobile Home Parks. But it doesn't work if you don't decide.
However, know that they don’t all work everywhere. So start with the kind of real estate you want to do and pick something that fires you up. Then find a location that works for it.
Give yourself deadlines and get some accountability on those deadlines for making decisions. Remember this: “No decision” is a “no!” decision. When you don't choose, you're actually choosing to say NO to your future.
Your Friend,
P.S. Comment below and let me know your thoughts on this week’s BTB! Please be friendly :)
