Something I’m Reading
I’m reading “Fooled by Randomness“ by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. I’m only a chapter in, but it’s a great concept and excellent writing. I think I’ll like it.
Something I Teach
Do you feel like you need to post on social media to grow your reputation as an investor or business owner - but struggling with finding time? Here is my top tip: social media isn’t about you, it’s about providing value to those who follow you. People care about themselves. So in everything you post, make sure it benefits them.
Something I Photographed
Ever take a selfie with the back camera…and you don’t realize it was on the front camera setting? Yep. Me too. Here’s me and Heather at dinner. Trust me…we looked good.
Something I’m Excited About
I’m winding down from BPCon and had a great time (but my voice is shot). Met lots of new friends and saw some old friends again. If we met at BPCon this year, let me know in the comments below!
Something I Can Answer
Every week, I answer one question asked by a BTB subscriber. Have a question you want me to answer? Reply to this text with your question!
Question: “How would you encourage someone who’s discouraged in their real estate journey?”
Great question and this is something everyone struggles with. I have two pieces of advice for this:
Put yourself in intentional environments that refuel you, remind you of your “why”, and motivate you to keep pushing forward. For me, this is often when I’m surrounded by others with similar ambitions like in a mastermind group. This can help refocus you on your why and surround you with others to encourage you.
Don’t get discouraged by other people’s success when you aren’t seeing similar success in your life. As Grant Cardone said, “I’m never discouraged by other people’s wins because it shows that it can be done.”
Your Friend,
P.S. Comment below and let me know your thoughts on this week’s BTB! Please be friendly :)
